Presentation of Les Amis de Formulus
The group Les Amis de Fromulus (the
Friends of Fromulus), are composed of about 50 benvolent members.
We have two sections with différent outfits (matching the
giants):
* The adults who are around the giant
Jean le Bûcheron (John the Woodcutter).
* The youngsters (under 16) who carry
the giant Jacobus
Michel Sansen, actual leader of the group is only the
third président of the group although it was created in 1913 !
Since 1999, this team has been completed
by an emloyee and together they work to develop the activities of the group
which consist, not only in accompanying their giants John theWoodcutter, but
also in the organisation of festivals at Steenvoorde and elsewhere, for other
towns or comittees. They stand for the dancing giants tradition and study
dancing giants around the world.
Michel is the official French representative of the CIAG
(the International Circle of Giants' Friends)
